Hi, I’m Karlo.
I’m a textile print designer working across fashion and interior design, with over a decade of experience creating commercial, best-selling artwork. My work combines print and pattern design, apparel graphics, strong CAD execution, AI-assisted concept development, and 3D rendering to bring ideas to life.
From early concept through production-ready artwork files, I balance aspirational creativity with technical precision.
FASHION PRINTS
With a background in developing prints across various women’s categories, including sleepwear, activewear, and intimates, I have a strong ability to design a range of print styles. My approach is rooted in a foundation of fine art, drawing, and a sensitivity to color. Below are select fashion prints and graphics created for brands including Victoria’s Secret, SOMA, LOFT, Lou & Grey, NY & Company, and more.
Client: SOMA | Role: Print Designer / Storyteller
Brand: Lou & Grey | Role: Color separation, repeat and colorway development
Brand: LOFT | Role: Hand painting, layout and colorway development

AI ASSISTED WORKFLOWS
I use AI tools such as MidJourney, Google Gemini, Flora Fauna, ChatGPT, and AI features in Photoshop and Illustrator to support concept development and motif generation. I then leverage my textile CAD skills, including repeat development and color separation, to refine results into production-ready designs.
Collection concept: Mynah & Tulip, inspired by the everyday mynah bird and the African tulip tree.
After designing the print in Illustrator & Photoshop I mocked up the print in Google Gemini, specifying everything from lighting fixture shape, color, boucle color and feel, and headboard material.
Vector color blocking to quickly establish the overall mood and color story.
Showing how the color story started and how Gemini interpreted the color blocking
I started with familiar Hawai'i motifs, the mynah bird and the African tulip tree. After learning they’re both invasive species, I was interested in reinterpreting them and seeing them in a different way.
A glimpse into my pattern design process using Illustrator and Photoshop. I used Illustrator’s Generate Vector tool to develop motifs, then refined the design by applying a hand-painted effect.
A close-up view showing how adding a hand-painted effect to vector motifs creates a more naturalistic feel in both the motifs and the overall pattern.
A closer look at the pattern. I started with the typical colors associated with the mynah bird and tulip tree, but wanted to shift the palette into something softer and more calm. I used Gemini to explore options and was especially drawn to this ground. After refining it further in Photoshop, I landed on this version, which then informed the color story for the rest of the elements, including the bedspread, duvet, and throw pillows.
Use Google Gemini to create interior mockups from physical samples, helping visualize scale, placement, and overall design feel.

CONCEPTS & CAD
Original resort-wear concepts developed using AI generated motifs that were extensively edited, reworked, and composed into entirely new layouts. Each design was then fully color-separated and redeveloped into original colorways using traditional CAD processes. Shown on digital mockups.
3D MODELING & RENDERING
I've always wanted to work in interior design. After earning a certificate in interior design from Parsons School of Design | The New School, I worked on several great projects, including high-end residential work with Hawai‘i–based firm, Averylily Design Studio. Below are 3D models and renderings I created using SketchUp and Enscape for client presentations.
